The Holy Blogger

You never know who has a blog these days.

Even the new Pope Benedict XVI has gone high tech. Read his blog here.

Excerpt:
Some people feel inclined to kneel at my feet and kiss my hand. It was strange at first, but I'm starting to get used to it. I now carry those disinfecting wipes to clean my hands when they leave. You never know where those lips have been.

All hail the Holy Blogger!

This Week

This whole week has gone by real quick. It's funny how I feel busier than I was when school was still on.

On Wednesday I went to eat Sakae's sushi buffet with my super lovable girlfriend. I only managed to eat 14 plates, which was way short of my 18 plate record. It wasn't my fault though, the food that we ordered was slow and it comes to speed eating, it's all about momentum. =)

After that I went to meet my friend who brought me to the hotel for the interview. I filled up the application form and guess how long the interview took. It only took 1 minute! I went in, answered a question and the next thing the interviewer asked was, "Okay. Can you come for training tomorrow?" I said yes and that was it.

So on Thursday I really didn’t do much aside from going for the training. The training was quite alright and lasted around 2 hours or so.

On Friday, it was finally my school's prom night. Honestly speaking, events like these always give me mixed emotions all throughout the night. Happy that everybody's celebrating their graduation but at the same time sad, because I won't be seeing all my wonderful classmates that often anymore.

I have to say that overall I enjoyed the prom. Towards the end when they opened up the dance floor, it was interesting to see some of the lecturers dancing. I'm not saying that lecturers aren't allowed to dance, it's just you always view your teachers as the serious type and the last thing you would expect to see them doing is letting it loose on the dance floor. And what made it even more interesting to watch was that some of them didn't know how to dance. Hahaha. I tell you, that really made my night.

Alright, I have to stop here for now. My back is killing me and I can hardly keep my eyes open anymore. Pardon any grammatical or spelling errors. Will update again.

Boredom

For some reason, I don't feel like blogging nowadays. I don't know if it's because I can't find anything to blog about or if it's because I'm just feeling a bit bored nowadays.

Anyway, tomorrow I'll be going to a job interview for some banquet job that my friend told me to go. According to him, time passes by real fast on the job and they provide transport back as well. Hopefully I'll be able to get it as I'm really feeling quite bored doing nothing.

What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun?

Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.

The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.

The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course.

All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full.

To the place the streams come from, there they return again.

All things are wearisome, more than one can say.

The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

Is there anything of which one can say, "Look! This is something new"?

It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.

There is no remembrance of men of old, and even those who are yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow.

- Ecclesiastes 1:3-11

I guess that's what I'm feeling nowadays.

Life After

My friend Yi Fan blogs about life after poly.

Excerpt:
Another thing that they never realise is that instead of idling, I am actually quite busy and spending my time rather productively. You see, when I wake up in the late afternoon, I have to rush to my favourite outlet in singapore also known as the Singapore Pools to do some drawing.

My life is quite boring nowadays. There's hardly anything to blog about. Hmm... Maybe I should join Yi Fan and become an entrepreneur in the making as well.

Stupidity In Football

Halfway through the Bayern Munich-Chelsea game on Wednesday morning, I received a call from my friend.

"Eh, faster see the Milan game. Dida kena whack by flare. HAHAHA."

I didn't want to watch the Inter-Milan game because 2 Italian teams meet they play footbore, but now that there was finally some "real" action I quickly switched over to channel 24.

It turned out that the Inter fans started throwing missiles onto the pitch after the referee, Marcus Merk, had disallowed a headed goal by Inter. One of the missiles, a flare, hit Milan goalkeeper Dida on the shoulder and the referee stopped the match temporarily for the sake of the players' safety. He tried to restart the game 10 minutes later, but the Inter fans started throwing flares on the pitch again, so he abandoned the match.

It was quite an interesting sight, as I had never seen anything like that before. Red flares, smoke and all... it was like a scene from a war movie. But after watching everything, I have 2 things to say about this incident.

Firstly, footballers are without are doubt the greatest actors in the sporting world. Forget The Rock, Steve Austin or even Eric Cantona. When it comes to the art of acting, you can't beat a footballer. Don't believe me? Here are a few examples.

To run across someone with minimal contact and fall to the ground like you've been hit by truck: Robert Pires.

What do to in the penalty box

To have the ball kicked against your shin and go down like you kena headshot in CS: Rivaldo in the 2002 World Cup.

Medic!! We need a medic over here right now!

To block the ball with your hand and hold your chest like it hit your ribs: Steven Taylor in the Newcastle-Aston Villa game 2 weeks ago.

How do show the emotion, Pain

And now, to get hit by a flare on the shoulder and lie down like you've been assassinated like President Kennedy: Dida of AC Milan.

I've never been hit by a flare so I don't know how it feels, but I don't think it's as serious as the way Dida went down. Come on, you can jump and catch a ball with a 90kg striker barging you in the back but you go down as soon as a 500g(?) flare hits you on the shoulder?

I don't think the flare even burnt him as his jersey was still well intact. Besides, if you get hit and feel that you're in danger; wouldn't it be logical to get the hell out of the way while you still can? I don't know about you, but if I've been hit by an object, I wouldn't lie down and wait to get hit again.

Secondly, I don't blame the Inter fans for trying to disrupt the game at all. If I was there, I might even have joined in. Why? I don't think the Inter fans were trying to hurt anyone. They were merely protesting against an act of stupidity.

Cambiasso's goal was disallowed by referee Marcus Merk for a foul that no one saw except him. The ball came in from the corner, Dida missed the catch, and Cambiasso headed it in. If managers are ejected on the charge of inciting the crowd, Markus Merk should be punished as well because he incited the Inter fans with his stupidity.

If it's anyone's fault that this match was abandoned, it should be his.

Give me bananas!

But I guess at the end of the day, all we viewers can do is just to sit back, and watch the fireworks.

In Between

Now that the holidays have finally started, my sleeping habits have been changing. I used to sleep around 2am in the past, now I'm sleeping at 5am. So right now my day usually begins at 1pm when I wake up and ends at 5 in the morning.

Now that I've graduated from Poly, I'm just enjoying slacking around while I still can. Once I'm working, I won't be able to play my PS2 and go out as often anymore.

To tell the truth, I'm a bit afraid of going out into the working world. I'm not even sure what I want to do. Even though my course is in IT, I don't want to work along that line. And it's an idea some of my classmates share as well. After doing my Final Year Project, the idea of having to work 9 to 5 everyday, looking into a computer screen isn't something that I want. Besides, my IT skills aren't that good anyway. All my grades were along the standard of Cs and Ds.

Bah. I don't know what to do. But I guess I'll give it some time and see how it goes.

Interrupted

I was watching the Real Madrid lead Barcelona 1-0 a while ago when suddenly there's a technical breakdown. The telecast resumes after around 10 minutes and the score's 2-1 to Real Madrid!

Increase the price to $16 dollars already the service still like that. How can?

Anyway, it's 3-1 to Madrid at halftime after Raul squeezes a shot between Victor Valdes's legs. I've got to get some popcorn now, this match is getting exciting. =)

I hope Barcelona wins though.

On And Off

On the bus home last night, I was listening to Power 98 on my handphone radio when the conversation takes place.

DJ: Tonight, we're asking all you men out there, what is the best part of a woman or what about a woman attracts you the most. I've heard most men say that it's the way a woman carries herself that's the most attractive, but anyway let's hear what our caller has to say.

Hi there, who's on the line?

(I forgot his name so let's call him John)
John: Hi, it's John here.

DJ: So John, what is it about a woman that attracts you the most?

John: I don't know. Haha..

DJ: You don't know? (laughs, maybe in amazement) Come on John.. What kind of a man are you?

John: A Machiong man. Hahahaha..

DJ: Excuse me, did you just say gan cheong man?

John: No. Machiong man.

DJ: A machiong man? What's that?

John: A man who is very strong.

DJ: Oh... A MACHO man. I see, I see. Alright John. Thanks for calling.

Whenever Finicky Feline complains about the men she encounters, I'm thinking they must be from the same kind as this fellow. I mean, how stupid can you get? Firstly, he calls but doesn't answer the question. Secondly, he's trying to be funny when his sense of humour is as funny as the acting ability of Fiona Xie. Lastly, his england cannot make it. Perhaps he needs to take a few english lessons from Calm One.

But in relation to the question, for me what attracts me the most are beautiful eyes. I don't mean physically big, round, eyes, but like how after looking into someone's eyes, you just can't help but be mesmerized. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, though I don't know how true that is.

Of course when there's an turn on there's definitely a turn off.

I remember back in primary 4, I had a teacher that used to like wearing sleeveless tops. The only thing was... she had armpit hair.

Do I make you HORNY, baby?

And whenever she would write on the chalkboard, I couldn't help but try to look away or else I would cringe in digust at what I saw. Even a few of my classmates felt the same. To my relief, she left the school after a few months and I was able to concentrate in class better.

Perhaps I should have bought her these for Teachers Day.

Please use me regulary

A Short Entry

Relationships are so complicated.

But I guess that's what makes them interesting at the same time.

Send Me

With the death of the Pope last Sunday, I've been watching CNN quite regularly. And with all the images of the priests, cardinals and bishops, I couldn't help but remember this from bash.org.

[jeebus] the "bishop" came to our church today
[jeebus] he was a ****** impostor
[jeebus] never once moved diagonally

Last time I used to get most of my music from MIRC. I forgot which channel I would to go, but I would always log on in the morning because traffic was low and there was no need to wait in queue.

But ever since some authority started to clamp down and IRC started dying, I have no more source for my music. And what it made it worse was that my laptop died some time last year, and along with it, my 1200+ songs. So after I got my laptop back, the only way I could get music was from my friends. The only problem with this method is that it's very troublesome. Your friend has to be online at the same time, you have to check with him if he/she has the songs that you want.. etc.

And while everyone has moved on to cable and broadband, I'm still using a lousy 56K connection. So even if I did find someone who was willing to send me songs, it would be painstakingly slow for both sides. What's more, I heard recently that the authorities are starting to monitor internet traffic as well to catch more people to share files online.

Howver, my friend suggested a new way of sending songs. Via Gmail. It's a good way of making use of the 1GB space they provide and it's more convenient as both you can upload and download the song in your own time. I don't think you'll be caught too, as long as you zip up the files that you send over.

So if anybody has any good songs from any genre, please send it to zenithsequence@gmail.com . I need some good music to listen to as I blog. =)

A Bus Ride

On my way home today, I was feeling kind of tired and hoping for an air con bus to come along, but as my luck would have it, a non air con one came instead. So I went to the upper deck as usual and tried to find a seat.

All the inner seats were taken as I walked towards the rear. I wanted to get a seat at the last row of seats, but when I got there the entire row was filled, but there were 2 empty outer seats at the second last rows. One on my right and one on my left.

One of the things I have learnt when taking the bus is that when one faces this particular decision of choosing a seat on the bus, it is important to choose carefully as the seat you choose will determine your level of comfort for the rest of the journey. If the journey is a long one, the importance of the decision becomes even greater. After all, you wouldn't want to spend the rest of the journey with someone occupying 3/4 of the seat, pushing you off the seat every time the bus turns left and have people keep knocking into your shoulder whenever they alight.

So I took a quick moment to analyze my 2 potential seat mates. Both of them were sleeping rather peacefully so they didn't see me taking a quick look at them. The person seated on my right this guy who was rather fat plump, while the other one on my left was this rather cute looking girl.

Naturally, there wasn't much consideration to be done. I immediately took the seat on my left, the obvious reason being that the girl was cute there was more space for me to sit. More space = more comfort.

So there was I seated comfortably in my seat. The wind wasn't blowing in my face, there was nobody poking the back of my seat with their knees and my seat mate didn't have BO. Everything was going well and I was about to close my sleepy eyes when I felt a gentle push on my right shoulder.

Opening my eyes, I saw my cute seat mate's shoulder leaning on me. She must have been deep asleep, as her head bobbed up, down, left and right with every turn and bounce of the bus. And with every turn and bounce, I noticed her head slowly leaning closer and closer to my shoulder.

I started to think. Should I give her a gentle nudge to wake her up? Or should I just sit there and as the song goes, let it be? This time however, I wasn't able to make a decision. The next thing I knew, I felt a soft nudge land on top of my right shoulder.

I turned to look… and there was she was, sleeping on my shoulder. Her head was so close to my face that I could even smell the scent of her shampoo. At that point, I considered giving her a nudge to wake her up, but I thought, it's not every day that a cute girl sleeps on your shoulder she must have been really tired, so the least I could do was lend her my shoulder to sleep on.

And so that was how it stayed for the next half of my journey home. Strangely enough, she woke up one stop before I alighted and must have been embarrassed because she immediately changed her position as soon as she realised she was sleeping on my shoulder.

The moral of the story?

A very important lesson for everyone
